We All Feel Unworthy Sometimes

We all have moments when we feel like we’re not enough.

Sometimes it’s intense and painful, like a wave of shame or self-doubt that hits and stays with you. Other times it’s more subtle, but still present, shaping how you see yourself, how you move through your day, and how much pressure you carry.

It can sound like questioning yourself, feeling like you should be doing better, or noticing a quiet sense that something about you needs to change before you can fully relax.

And when you really look at it, this makes sense.

So much of how we’ve learned to relate to ourselves is tied to effort, improvement, and getting things right. We’re often taught, directly or indirectly, that our worth has something to do with how we perform, how we show up, or how others respond to us. And on top of that, our brains naturally look for what’s not working, what could be better, or where we might be falling short.

So of course that feeling of “not enough” shows up.

There are ways to work with this very deeply, to actually process the underlying wounds and experiences that created these feelings of not being enough.

I guide that kind of deeper work in other meditations, like my Parts Work Meditation for the Part of You That Believes It’s Unlovable (Episode 115) and my Parts Work Meditation for Releasing Limiting Beliefs (Episode 102). Those practices help you meet and process the roots of these patterns in a very direct and meaningful way.

And at the same time, there’s another way to work with this.

Today’s meditation gives you a chance to feel into your worth in a direct, embodied way.

Iffirmations can help open your mind and body to new possibilities, and often bring forward parts of you that hold a sense of worth, confidence, and aliveness that may not be as easy to access in everyday life.

Opening to New Possibilities of Worthiness

Instead of trying to fix the feeling of not being enough, or trace it back to its roots, this meditation simply opens a new possibility.

What if you’re already worthy?

What if you don’t have anything to prove?

What if there’s nothing to fix, perfect, or work toward in this moment?

This isn’t something you have to believe.

There’s nothing you need to convince yourself of or force into place. You’re just allowing your mind and your body to come into contact with a different possibility, and noticing what happens as you do.

Sometimes that creates a sense of ease or softening. Sometimes it feels unfamiliar or hard to take in. Sometimes it brings up resistance.

All of that is part of the experience.

And often, just by opening to a new possibility in this gentle way, you begin to connect with energies within you that you may not have been fully aware of before.

Iffirmations: A Simple, Gentle Way to Explore

The way we explore this in the meditation is through something called iffirmations.

Iffirmations are simply “what if” questions.

Instead of telling yourself something is true, you’re opening a door and letting yourself explore it.

So rather than saying, “I am worthy,” you might ask, “What if I’m already worthy?” or “What would it be like to feel worthy right now?”

That small shift in language matters.

Because you’re not trying to convince yourself of anything, your body and inner world can stay more open and receptive.

As you move through these questions, you may notice your body softening or a different sense of yourself coming forward.

From there, it becomes easier to connect with parts of you that hold a natural sense of worth, confidence, and aliveness.

Reconnecting With Your “Golden Shadow”

When we talk about feeling “not enough,” we’re usually focused on the parts of us that feel insecure, unsure, or wounded.

But there’s another side to this.

Many people have also disconnected from parts of themselves that are strong, confident, creative, expressive, or deeply alive. A lot of us didn’t have environments where those parts could be fully seen or supported, so we learned to hold them back.

In depth psychology, these hidden positive qualities are sometimes called the “golden shadow.”

They’re the parts of you that carry your capacity, your aliveness, your beauty, your power, your creativity. And just like the parts of you that feel hurt or not enough, they can live outside of your everyday awareness.

Practices like iffirmations can help you gently reconnect with these parts.

When you open to questions like “What if I’m already worthy?” you’re creating space for a different experience of yourself to emerge. You may begin to feel moments of confidence, openness, or self-acceptance that weren’t as accessible before.

A Gentle Self-Worth Reset

This meditation offers a simple but powerful shift, a chance to feel into your worth in a direct, embodied way.

As you move through the iffirmations, you may notice your body softening, your thoughts settling, or a more grounded, supportive sense of yourself beginning to come forward. Even brief moments of this can feel relieving and meaningful, especially if you’re used to carrying pressure or self-doubt.

Some of the questions may land easily. Others might feel unfamiliar or bring up resistance. That’s part of the process.

You don’t need to make anything happen. Just stay with yourself as you listen, and notice what begins to shift or open within you.
