Inner strength. We often see it as a kind of toughness, grit, or invincibility. But let’s pause. Breathe. Reflect.
What if true inner strength is something much deeper, much more profound, and infinitely more beautiful?
The Myth of "Power Over"
In our society, grandiosity and the desire to dominate others is often mistaken for strength.
But I believe that every attempt to wield power over others or to hold others down is actually born from deep-seated weakness. It's an overcompensation for unconscious insecurities, scarcity, and fear; enacted by people too scared to face their own vulnerability and too myopic to act with empathy.
True strength is not about building walls, overpowering others, or pretending to be infallible.
Embracing Your Authentic Inner Strength
True strength comes from the compassion we cultivate, the connections we foster, and the authenticity we embrace.
It’s about honoring our vulnerabilities, lovingly accepting our imperfections, and having the courage to listen to our deepest needs and desires. It’s about showing up in our lives and communities, connected to our own humanity.
True inner strength acknowledges your inherent worth and the legitimacy of your needs and feelings. And it’s cultivated every time you make choices that align with your most authentic and compassionate self.
Embracing your true inner strength is an act of profound self-love.
When you’re in your inner strength, you honor your inner wisdom, listen to the whispers of your heart, and courageously face the wounded and vulnerable parts within yourself with acceptance.
This may sound like a tall order, but it’s something we create breath by breath, step by step, imperfectly.
And I think you have more strength in you than you realize. Your journey hasn’t been easy, and the road ahead may not be easy either. Yet, the fact that you’ve navigated life's ups and downs and still carry love in your heart is a testament to your immense inner strength.
